Real Marriage Real Talk

Scripture:
“Let all that you do be done in love.”
1 Corinthians 16:14 (ESV)

💛 Devotional Thought

Marriage doesn’t crumble in a moment.
It drifts in the quiet places — the mornings when you stop saying “goodbye,” the nights when you’re too tired to talk, the days when you assume your spouse already knows how you feel.

Slowly… silently… distance grows where intention once lived.

But love — real, God-rooted love — doesn’t survive on autopilot.
It thrives when two imperfect people choose to show up on purpose.

Intention is spiritual.
It’s an act of worship.
It says, “God, I’m choosing to love the way You love… consistently, sacrificially, and with my whole heart.”

When you take a moment to check in, to listen without armor, to embrace without rushing away… you’re building something holy.
You’re watering the covenant God joined together.

Your marriage doesn’t need perfection — it needs presence.
It needs the quiet, steady choices that whisper:
“I see you. I choose you. I’m here.”

And even on the days when it feels hard, God steps into the space between you and teaches you how to love again with fresh intention.

🙏 Prayer

Father, remind us that love is a daily choice.
Help us slow down long enough to see our spouse the way You see them — worthy of patience, compassion, and intentional love.
Strengthen the places in our marriage that have grown distant, and breathe new life into our connection.
Teach us to love with purpose, with grace, and with Your heart.
Amen.

📝 Reflection Questions

  1. Where have we allowed autopilot to replace intentional connection?
  2. What is one small action I can take today to show my spouse they matter?
  3. How can we invite God back into the center of our communication and daily routines?

💬 Takeaway

Intention is love in action.
And love in action changes marriages.
